Meet Valli Geiger
Name: Valli Geiger
Party: Democratic
Office Sought: Maine House of Representatives, District 42
Valli Geiger is the Democratic incumbent representing Maine House District 42 and is seeking reelection in the November 3, 2026 general election. She advanced from the Democratic primary held on June 9, 2026.
House District 42 includes Criehaven Township, Matinicus Isle Plantation, the Muscle Ridge Islands, North Haven, part of Owls Head, and Rockland.
Geiger is serving her third term in the Maine House of Representatives. She currently serves on the Legislature’s Labor Committee and the Energy, Utilities and Technology Committee.
Geiger began her career as a nurse at Pen Bay Medical Center. She spent most of her career as a health policy analyst and health administrator. She is the former director of the HealthReach Hospice program and former clinical director for the Federally Qualified Health Centers around the state.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Niagara University in 1977 and later earned a master’s degree in sustainable design from the Boston Architectural College.
According to her official legislative biography, Geiger used her graduate education to build her own passive-solar, net-zero-energy home and is passionate about increasing the availability of housing for all members of her community.
Prior to serving in the Maine House, Geiger served six years on the Rockland City Council, including one year as mayor. She also served four years on the Rockland Comprehensive Planning Commission, including three years as chair.
Geiger lives in Rockland with her husband of more than 30 years, Greg Marley.
