The Maine Mirror | From the Newsroom
One of the things I enjoy most about independent journalism is that it isn’t driven by corporate assignments or national headlines. It’s driven by people.
Every day, I review public records, attend meetings, respond to emails, monitor developments across Maine, and follow up on tips. But no newsroom—especially one as young as The Maine Mirror—can be everywhere at once.
So today, I’d like to turn the microphone over to you.
What story do you think deserves more attention?
Is there a local issue that has gone overlooked? A government decision you don’t fully understand? A policy that’s affecting your community? A public records request you’ve always wished someone would make? A person doing incredible work who deserves recognition?
Whatever it is, I’d like to hear it.
Leave a comment with your town and tell us what you believe deserves a closer look. While I can’t promise every suggestion will become an article, I can promise that every submission will be read and considered.
The Maine Mirror exists for one reason: to help build a culture rooted in truth, transparency, accountability, and respectful conversation. The best journalism isn’t simply written for the public—it is built alongside the public.
So, what’s happening in your corner of Maine that you think more people should know about?
Help Shape the Next Story
The Maine Mirror exists because of readers like you. If you know of a story that deserves attention, have a question about your local government, or believe there’s an issue affecting your community that should be investigated, we’d love to hear from you.
