The Maine Mirror Network | Community Meeting Preview
CAMDEN, Maine — Camden residents have two opportunities to follow the work of their local government on Tuesday, July 7, as the Select Board is scheduled to hold both a Special Select Board Meeting during the afternoon and its regularly scheduled evening meeting.
Together, the meetings include executive sessions, public hearings, discussions on paid parking, appointments to regional boards, and several other items affecting the community.
(Official agenda for the Camden Special Select Board Meeting showing the two executive sessions scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.)

Special Select Board Meeting
The afternoon special meeting will be held in the Tucker Room and is scheduled in two parts:
- 1:00 p.m. – Executive Session
- 3:00 p.m. – Executive Session
Both executive sessions are listed under 1 MRS § 405(6)(A) for discussion of a personnel matter.
Under Maine law, executive sessions allow public bodies to discuss certain personnel matters privately. Any official action or vote, however, must still occur during a public meeting.
Regular Select Board Meeting
Later that evening, the Select Board will reconvene at 6:30 p.m. in the French Conference Room. The meeting will also be available through the Town of Camden’s livestream and Zoom webinar for those wishing to participate remotely.

The Board is also expected to consider several routine matters, including:
- Renewal of victualer and lodging licenses.
- Confirmation and ratification of an employment agreement with Town Manager Audra Caler.
Action Items
Among the evening’s business are several decisions that could have a broader community impact, including:
